Certificate Configuration

Turn on Certificate issuance, pick a template, attachments, and Activate recertification.

What This Is For

Certificate issuance lets a built-in course, Imported Package, program, or meetup issue a certificate when the learner completes successfully.

For meetups, completion is recorded when attendance is approved in Follow Up—then the certificate can issue if enabled.

Who This Is For

Collaborators and administrators configuring compliance or completion credentials in Create.

Before You Start

Content exists in Create (draft is fine while configuring; learners need a published item).
Decide whether certificates should expire and whether learners will renew via recertification content.
If you want a custom look, publish at least one template under Configure → Certificates (or rely on the workspace default / built-in design).

Steps — Enable Certificate Issuance

Open the content in Create → configuration.
Open Certificate issuance.
Enable Enable certificate for this course (wording may say course, Imported Package, program, or meetup depending on type). When enabled, a certificate is issued on successful completion.
Under Certificate template, Search or select a certificate template, or leave the default so the workspace default (or built-in design) applies. Only published templates appear in the list. Changing or clearing a template affects newly issued certificates for this content only—already issued PDFs stay as they are.
Optionally open Certificate attachments to Attach an additional document to the certificate.
Optionally open Activate recertification:
- Set Certificate is valid for... (for example 6 months, One year, Two years, Three years, Five years)
- Choose Content to use for recertification... (or Renewed by itself when the same content renews the certificate)
- Where offered, Delete and replace this certificate instead of renewing it (self-destruct / replace behaviour)
Save / publish as needed.

Result

Completing learners receive a certificate in the Certificates app, using the selected template, the workspace default for that content type, or the built-in design. Renewal settings feed expiration reminders and renew flows.
