Result Registration History
See when an administrator registered or renewed a result, and who did it.
What This Is For
When someone has an Approved result or a certificate, you sometimes need to know if an administrator registered or renewed it on their profile—rather than the learner finishing in Learn.
Use this guide to read that admin trail in Analyze → Result details, and the shorter audit trail on the user profile in Users & Groups. Learner-taken results look like ordinary progress (no special origin chip).
Exports (Excel) do not include who registered a result—open Result details or the profile audit log for that.
Who This Is For
- Administrators — full workspace
- Managers with Analyze access — users in the groups they manage
- Collaborators with Analyze access — content they collaborate on
Administrators also use the profile Result audit log in Users & Groups.
Before You Start
- You need Analyze access (Users & Groups).
- The person must already have a progression row for that content (enrolled, in progress, approved, failed, expired, and so on).
Open Result Details in Analyze
- Open Analyze → User results.
- Find the person × content row (filters help—see Progressions).
- Click the row to open Result details.
Participations for that person and content appear as expandable cards, newest first. Enrollment-only rows (for example Enrolled with no attempt yet) stay as a single line—they are not collapsible participation cards.
Read Origin on a Participation
Expand a participation card. An origin chip appears only when that participation was registered by an administrator (admin registrations are always completed—there is no half-finished admin attempt):

If there is no origin chip, treat the participation as a normal learner attempt in Learn.
Event History
Open the Event history tab (or expand events on the participation).
You get a timeline for that participation—for example enrolled, started, approved, failed, expired, certificate issued, revoked. Expandable participation groups reuse the same admin origin chips when the attempt was admin-registered.
Review Answers and Timestamps
On Review answers:
- If there is more than one participation, use the Participation dropdown (newest first).
- The same admin origin chip appears for the selected participation when it applies.
- Below the answers, a timestamp grid lists lifecycle moments when they exist (for example started, approved)—in chronological order.
Register result / manual issue is not offered from Started or Approved states in this dialog; use the user profile in Users & Groups when you need to register or renew on behalf of someone.
Status labels on review (including Cancelled when it applies) match the chips elsewhere in Analyze.
Result Audit Log on the User Profile
For a focused admin trail on one certificate / result:
- Open Users & Groups → the person’s profile → Certificates (or the certificates area on the profile).
- Open Result audit log for that result (info control on the row).
- Read operations such as Registered by admin, Renewed by admin, Deleted by admin, Archived by admin, or Retaken by admin, with name and time when recorded.
If the dialog shows No admin registration history for this result, there is no stored admin operation (often the learner completed it in Learn). Registered by an admin (name unknown) means older data where who registered it was not recorded.

Result
You can spot admin-registered completions in Analyze, see who registered or removed them when that was recorded, and open the same story from the profile audit log.
