Show Profile Fields Only When They Apply

Hide extra attributes until the right answers are in place—and put fields in the order people fill them.

Extra profile questions often only matter for some people. You can keep those attributes off the form until the controlling answers match, instead of leaving every field always visible or always hidden.

  • Custom accessibility — On Configure → Attributes, set Attribute accessibility to Custom. Choose When visible (Required or Optional), then add Show when conditions on other attributes (same idea as smart group matchers: Is any of, Has any value, and all-choices style matches). Every condition must match for the field to appear.
  • Hierarchical controllers — When the controlling attribute is a nested tree, picking a parent under Is any of also covers that choice and everything under it.
  • Forms follow the rules — Profile, registration, and Users & Groups show or hide fields as answers change. Hidden fields clear their value; required only applies while visible.
  • Reorder attributes — Drag (or arrow-key) attributes on the Attributes list so profile and signup follow a sensible order. Place controlling fields first when that helps—Skillhabit does not force dependency order for you.
